State Trooper Injured In Crash With Box Truck In Hyannis

State Police said someone driving a box truck blew a red light and struck a cruiser.

HYANNIS, MA — A Massauchetts State Police trooper was injured in a crash with a box truck in Hyannis Saturday.

Around 8:30 a.m., police were called to the intersection of Route 28 and Yarmouth Road when the trooper's cruiser was hit by a box truck on the driver's side door. State Police said the box truck driver blew a red light.

State Police said the trooper was taken to Cape Cod Hospital with minor injuries. The box truck driver is expected to be cited, but those charges or his identity have yet to be released.
