Mayo-Brown told the school committee school officials collectively accomplished her goals with the district, including steadily improving on state accountability education metrics. She also said the district made great strides in improving equity, diversity and inclusion to help prepare all students for college and careers.

"The collective accomplishments over the past five years, including our response to the pandemic, have positioned Barnstable public schools for new strategic goals to be established by the school committee," Mayo-Brown said. "It also creates a natural transition point for new leadership."
