Thanksgiving Football: Barnstable Travels To Falmouth

The Barnstable Red Raiders will continue their 124-year-old rivalry when they faceoff against the Falmouth Clippers on Thanksgiving.

BARNSTABLE, MA — The Red Raiders are set to hit the gridiron at Falmouth against the Clippers on Thanksgiving, a tradition that started in 1895. The annual Barnstable-Falmouth football game is the state's fifth oldest rivalry.

Over the last 124 years, the two teams have played each other 133 times, and 92 of those games have been on Thanksgiving. The 93rd game will see the 6-4 Red Raiders try to create more separation in the Turkey Day rivalry against the 4-8 Clippers. Over the years, Barnstable has the better head-to-head record going 45-43-4 on Thanksgiving.

The game starts at 10 a.m. at Falmouth High School.
