Tree Work Scheduled For Winter Street In Hyannis, Delays Possible

Town officials said the tree removals are being done to improve pedestrian and vehicular traffic along Winter Street between Barnstable Road

BARNSTABLE, MA — Construction crews will clear trees on Winter Street in Hyannis the week of June 7, town officials said.

Town officials said the tree removals are being done to improve pedestrian and vehicular traffic along Winter Street between Barnstable Road and North Street. Once trees are removed, sidewalk and roadway improvements are scheduled to begin after Labor Day.

Town officials said the tree removal work is expected to be completed by Friday, June 11, 2021, weather permitting. Normal work hours will be between 7:00 a.m. and 5 p.m., throughout the week.

Officals said through traffic will be maintained as best possible during the tree work, but there may be delays during isolated periods while there are overhead hazards. Police details will be on site to direct traffic as needed. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes to avoid the construction work.
