Arrested for Child Rape, Deported, And Now Back in Custody
The accusations stem from a 2006 arrest.

Boston, MA - A Chelsea man deported after a 2006 arrest on charges of child rape is back in custody after re-entering the country this week, according to a joint press release out from Suffolk County and federal officials Wednesday.
The joint release from the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office, Revere Police Department and Massachusetts District of the U.S. Justice Department said Rony Vasquez, 42, was arrested in 2006 after police caught him allegedly in the midst of "apparent sexual activity" with an 11-year-old girl.
He was indicted by a Suffolk County Grand Jury three months later on findings that he had had repeat contact with the child. However, he was deported by immigration authorities in the interim and never appeared at his Suffolk Superior Court arraignment. A warrant for his arrest has been in place since then, the release said.

U.S. Marshals reportedly learned Vasquez was planning to fly from Guatemala to Houston Tuesday, and took him into custody Tuesday night as he got off the plane.
Vasquez is currently being held without bail. Massachusetts officials will travel to Texas in the coming days to transport him to Suffolk Superior Court for arraignment, the press release said.
