Beacon Hill Groups To Present Shop Local Panel

The forum will take a look at the economic impacts and other benefits to buying locally.

Beacon Hill businessowners will take part in an hour-long panel discussion this month that looks at the benefits of shopping locally. 

The discussion, presented by the Beacon Hill Civic Association and Beacon Hill Business Association, will focus on how the Shop Local movement impacts both the neighborhood and New England economically as well as what’s involved in vetting local farms and other food sources, the health impact of locally grown produce, and how locally sourced meat, fish and produce impact a sustainable planet.  

Panelists include: Mark Duffield (Blackstone’s), Jennifer Hill (Blackstone’s), Chef Josh Lewin (Beacon Hill Hotel and Bistro), Juliana Lyman (Savenors), Paul Niski (Good), Joe and Rebecca Pimentel (Sweet Georgia P’s) and Barbara Scofidio (noa). The discussion will be moderated by Karen Fabbri, owner of Moxie.

The event starts with a reception at 5:30 p.m. on April 30 at the he Hampshire House, 84 Beacon St. The panel discussion is at 6 p.m. An RSVP is requested.
