Five Things: Candidate for Beacon Hill State House Seat Drops Out
And more to know today, April 10.

1. Tracy out: Nils Tracy, a Democratic candidate for the State House seat formerly held by Marty Walz, announced Tuesday that he's dropping out of the race. “I chose to run for State Representative, because I believe the 8th Suffolk District deserves a strong progressive leader. I now believe Jay Livingstone is that leader" Tracy said. The Democratic primary will be held May 28. Walz served as the representative for the 8th Suffolk district, which includes Beacon Hill, Back Bay, West End, until February.Â
2. Educator award: The nominations for the annual Boston Educators of the Year awards are now open and will be accepted until tomorrow. The awards recognize outstanding teachers, paraprofessionals, guidance counselors, school nurses and other educators who have made a unique contribution to their students, their classrooms, and their schools. Forms can be found here. Please submit nominations to BostonEducator@cityofboston.gov.
3. Tasty ticket: More than 30 Back Bay restaurants and vendors will be at Thursday night's Taste of the Back Bay in the Prudential Center from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. See who will be there and be sure you're among them. Get tickets here.Â

4. Voter registration: The last day to register to vote or change one’s voting address or party affiliation for the April 30 primary is today. Voters who have used absentee ballots in the past are reminded that a new application must be filled out each calendar year. Applications can be downloaded from the Election Department’s website, www.cityofboston.gov/elections.Â
5. Weather: There is a chance of showers before 11 a.m. today and a slight chance of showers after 3 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Showers will continue into the evening. High: 64, Low: 43.
