Five Things: Free Lecture at the Museum of African American History

And more to know today, April 3.

1. Free lecture on Beacon Hill: The Museum of African American History is hosting a free talk by  Sara Lawrence-Lightfoot on the African-American historic journey of liberation, and the ways that respect creates equality, empathy and connection in all kinds of relationships. The lecture, "Respect: Witness and Justice” is this Thursday at 6 p.m. at 46 Joy St.

2. Save the date: The Neighborhood Association of the Back Bay will hold its 18th Annual Taste of the Back Bay on Thursday, April 11, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at the Prudential Skywalk. Come and sample some of the finest food and drink Boston has to offer. This year a portion of the proceeds will benefit Lovin' Spoonfuls in addition to NABB's many community programs. 

3. Connolly campaign: City Councilor and mayoral candidate John Connolly announced Monday that he raised more than $70,000 in March, bringing his fundraising total to nearly $200,000 since Jan. 1, according to his campaign.

4. Running the Marathon? Share Your Story: If you're planning to run 26.2 straight miles, chances are you've got a good reason to do it. Share your own story by uploading your photo and more about yourself and your charity. 

5. Weather: Expect a day much like yesterday but a few degrees warmer and a bit sunnier. The high should hit 44 degrees, which will feel colder after factoring in strong winds.
