Meeting on Longfellow Bridge Project Tonight

MassDOT will present details on the project, including the traffic management plans and schedule.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is holding a public information meeting about the Longfellow Bridge Rehabilitation Project tonight from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

At the meeting the department will present details on the project, including the traffic management plans and schedule, and introduce the project team. Following the presentation, the Department of Transportation and the project's design staff from the WhiteSkanska-Consigli joint venture will lead a discussion to gather public comments and answer questions.

The rehabilitation will address the bridge's current structural deficiencies, upgrade its structural capacity and bring it up to code. The renovation will improve multimodal access and bridge-to-city-street connections so that the bridge meets accessibility guidelines. The repairs and modifications will be consistent with the historic character of the bridge and comply with environmental standards.
