Welcome to Monday Essentials, your guide for the week to come on Beacon Hill. Here's what you need to know for the week of Monday, Aug. 26:
THIRD SHIFT ADDED TO LONGFELLOW WORK
MassDOT recently announced a third shift, from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., will be added to the Longfellow Bridge rehabilitation project for a temporary period. That shift will be implemented starting Monday. More information is available here.
"I HAVE A DREAM" TRIBUTE READING
The Museum of African American History at 46 Joy St. on Beacon Hill is hosting a 50th anniversary reading of the historic "I Have A Dream" speech by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Wednesday at the museum. More information here, including on how you can become a reader.
BOSTON LANDMARKS ORCHESTRA
The Boston Landmarks Orchestra is holding their free Wednesday concerts at the DCR Hatch Memorial Shell all summer, and this Wednesday's will also honor King's speech. More information here.
