“N+T Asks” focuses on Beacon Hill artist & community leader

Now + There hosts community dialogues about reinterpreting Boston's neighborhoods on April 1st.

WHAT: Now +There is asking big questions and confronting a monumental moment with its popular online program, “N+T Asks,” bringing artists and community leaders together to discuss the bright spots and the challenges in Boston’s 23 neighborhoods. Open-ended conversations address reinterpreting how we see, label, and judge ourselves, each other, and public spaces with the goal of creating a more open and equitable Boston. “Where do you see your neighborhood in the year 2030?” is part of the conversation.

Challenging issues such as gentrification, racial inequity, food insecurity, socio-economic divides, and other reasons that Boston is considered a “closed city” will be all explored. And, discussions will examine how temporary public art can highlight neighborhood pride, important current and historic moments, and support more open minds, conversations, and spaces in the city. This program will focus on Beacon Hill and future events will focus on Egleston Square, West Roxbury, Mission Hill, and Hyde Square.

WHO: Kate Gilbert, Executive Director of Now + There, will lead the hour-long program including a 30-minute conversation with local artist L’Merchie Fraizer and neighborhood resident Cathy Stone. Then, there will 30 minutes of Q&A.
