Visually Impaired Woman Allegedly Assaulted Near Boston Common

The incident was reported at the Bowdoin and Beacon Street intersection.

Boston Police are seeking the public's help finding a man accused of inappropriately touching a visually impaired woman walking with the aid of her service dog near the Massachusetts Statehouse and Boston Common.

The call came in to BPD's sexual assault team around 10:05 a.m. Monday from the area of Beacon and Bowdoin Streets, police said in a press release. Detectives were told the woman was assaulted at the intersection, the release said, but the victim was unable to offer a description of the subject.

The Boston Police Sexual Assault Unit is actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with any information is asked to call detectives directly at (617) 343-4400. Community members wishing to assist this investigation anonymously can do so by calling the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1(800) 494-TIPS or by texting the word ‘TIP’ to CRIME (27463). The Boston Police Department will stringently guard and protect the identities of those who wish to help this investigation anonymously.
