Bedford Fair Housing Community Survey

As recipients of federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), 13 WestMetro HOME Consortium communities, including Bedford, are required to take meaningful actions to overcome patterns of segregation and foster inclusive communities free from discrimination. As a result, the Consortium engaged consultants Barrett Planning Group and JM Goldson LLC to develop an update to the Consortium’s Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice (AI) report. The AI is an assessment of state and local government’s bylaws, ordinances, statutes, and administrative policies and local conditions that affect the location, availability, and accessibility of housing. The AI will include: 1.) Data Analysis; 2.) Identification of Barriers; and 3.) a Fair Housing Plan, which will identify steps the Consortium can take to overcome the identified fair housing barriers.
