Bedford Man Beat Partner To Death On Maine Beach: Police
Rhonda Pattelena, 35, was found dead on a beach in York on Friday afternoon, police said.
BEDFORD, MA — A 33-year-old Bedford man was arrested and charged with murder on Friday after police say he beat his domestic partner to death on a Maine beach.
According to Maine state police, beach goers began calling 911 near 4 p.m. Friday to report a man assaulting a woman behind a rock at Short Sands Beach. York police arrested Jeffrey Buchannan at the scene.
Police identified the victim as Rhonda Pattelena, 35, also of Bedford. Buchannan and Pattelena had a child together, police said.

The killing was still under investigation on Saturday, and police did not immediately say what led to the violence.
