Bedford Road Work Scheduled From May 28 Until June 5

The Bedford Department of Public Works has scheduled crack sealing starting Thursday May 28th through June 2nd. Work hours will be 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, weather dependent.

Work will be performed on: North Road, Great Road – North Road to Bacon Road, Concord Road, Page Road – Old Billerica Road to Lexington town line.

The crack sealing process uses a high-pressure line to remove sand and debris in the crevice. A hot (320°F) asphalt-fiber compound is poured in the crack to seal the joint against water intrusion. This work is being performed in advance of the thin overlay (microsurface) scheduled for later this construction season. Bedford Police Details will be on site to direct traffic – please use caution when driving or walking past the equipment.

In addition to the above road work, the easterly driveway and parking area along the tennis and basketball courts at the Bedford High School will be reconstructed starting June 1st. The area will be pulverized, regraded, and the first course of asphalt paved by June 5th. Parking during this work will be available at the Town Hall or behind the Library.
