Bedford High Student Honored at Middlesex Law Day

Bennett G. Driscoll of Bedford was awarded.

Twenty-one high school students, including one from Bedford, were honored at the annual Middlesex Law Day celebration, held at Middlesex Superior Court, according to a press release.

Bennett G. Driscoll, a Bedford High School student, was among the recipients. The 21 students were honored for their commitment to public and community service, and academic achievement, according to the press release. 

More than $10,000 in college scholarship money was awarded to the students through the Francis P. Cullen Scholarships.

“Middlesex Law Day is a great opportunity to show our young people what amazing opportunities can be found in public service,” said District Attorney Marian T. Ryan. “I have been fortunate to spend my entire career working on behalf of the people of Middlesex County and I am so pleased to see such talented, civic-minded youth in our communities.”

The awardees were selected by their local school districts for displaying leadership, citizenship and academic and athletic accomplishments. The awards were presented by District Attorney Ryan, Sheriff Peter Koutoujian and Middlesex Bar Association President Philip Privitera. Speakers included State Sen. Sal DiDomenico, Judge Peter DiGangi and Educator and Broadcaster Scott Wahle.

“As Middlesex Sheriff - and a former assistant district attorney - I am incredibly proud of our criminal justice system in Middlesex County,” said Koutoujian. “I hope some of the bright young juniors and seniors who were recognized on Law Day will pursue careers in this rewarding field.”
