Bedford Weather: Cold Records Broken

BEDFORD, MA - The bitter cold only intensified overnight into Sunday morning, with temperatures plunging below zero and records being broken all across Massachusetts.

Boston broke cold records in February for the first time since 1967 when the temperature dipped to -4 degrees at midnight, according to the National Weather Service. That cold broke records of -3 degrees set Feb. 13 (1967) and Feb. 14 (1934).

A temperature record was set around 2 a.m. when Worcester dropped to 13 below zeroes; the temperature was 11 below in 1979. The wind chill overnight Saturday was a 41 degrees below zero, according to the National Weather Service.

At 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning in Bedford, temperatures dropped to -10 degrees, but felt like -33 degrees with the wind chill.
