Middlesex Sheriff Releases Warrant Apprehension Data
The unit is already on pace to exceed its 2015 arrest totals in 2016.

BEDFORD, MA - The Middlesex Sheriff's Warrant Apprehension Unit arrested more than 200 individuals with outstanding felony warrants in 2015.
Sheriff Peter Koutoujian released the Unit's apprehension statistics Tuesday, indicating that 225 arrests on charges lodged by nearly 50 agencies. The Warrant Apprehension Unit is already on pace to exceed that number in 2016, having apprehended 56 cases through the first 10 weeks of the year.

“I want to commend the members of the Warrant Apprehension Unit for their tremendous work,” said Sheriff Koutoujian. “The individuals tracked down and apprehended by this unit are wanted for serious felonies including drug trafficking and attempted murder. Removing them from the streets makes us all safer.”
Deputies also carried out 30 renditions, returning individuals back to Massachusetts from as far away as Texas and California. The department is tasked with locating and apprehended fugitives wanted on felony arrest warrants in the county, as well as individuals wanted in other jurisdictions.
