Police Log: Squirrel on the Playground, Erratic Jet Skis and More

The following information was provided by the Bedford Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

April 28

10:41 a.m. - A caller reported that a squirrel would not leave the playground at 9 Mudge Way. Police removed the animal.

10:45 a.m. - An assault and battery was reported on Evergreen Avenue.

12:32 p.m. - A caller on Taylor Pond Lane reported being threatened.

12:34 p.m. - A caller on Paul Revere Road reported his house and car were egged.

1:06 p.m. - A shed breaking-and-entering that happened a month ago was reported at 14 Walsh Road.

1:18 p.m. - Numerous callers reported an owl stuck in a net at 16 Jeffrey Circle. The owl was freed but did not appear able to fly away. The animal rescue league was notified.

1:22 p.m. - A caller reported jet skis driving erratically near the boat landing near 400 Carlisle Road. Police found the jet skis parked, and advised the jet skiers of a no-wake zone.

6:39 p.m. - An outside fire was reported near 9 Alfred Circle. Firefighters knocke the fire down.

11:16 p.m. - A 911 call was received from the CVS pharmacy at 199 The Great Road. A shoplifting and assault of an employee was reported. Lexington police also responded.

April 29

8:38 a.m. - A person was reported sleeping in a black car behind the school at 153 Concord Road. Police report the driver worked nearby and would leave.

11:15 a.m. - A white cargo van parked on Lane Avenue for a period of time was reported. Police checked the area but did not find hte van.

2:18 p.m. - A caller reported graffiti at the skateboard park at 12 Mudge Way.

4:10 p.m. - A caller reported a car parked near the church in town center with two men in it, speaking a foreign language and using a laptop computer. Police spoke with the men who were in town working for a wireless company to check cell phone signals. 

4:13 p.m. - A larceny happening the previous day was reported.

6:37 p.m. - A caller reported a box on the side of the road near 331 The Great Road. The box was empty and it was removed.

7:58 p.m. - A caller reported a woman in her 50s with dark hair was following them from the area of Depot Park. Police spoke with the woman and she was heading home.

9:21 p.m. - A larceny was reported at Stop and Shop. The person called back however and said he had all his belongings and had forgotten he'd put them in his car before returning to the store.

10:13 p.m. - Erratic driving was reproted at 358 The Great Road. Police spoke to the driver and found no signs of impairment.

April 30

2:37 a.m. - A caller reported a suspicious car near 402 Concord Road. Police checked and it was someone who lived nearby who was having a conversation on the phone.

2:27 p.m. - A caller reported a green Toyota Scion was driving erratically in the parking lot of Home Goods at 309 The Great Road. The car was gone when police arrived.

7:06 p.m. - A person reported the town-issued trash can for his home on Dunelm Road was missing.

11:30 p.m. - A car was reported parked in the lot at 202 Burlington Road for several days. Security was to check if it was an employee's car, if not it would be towed.
