Police Log: Woodchuck at the Middle School, Controlled Fire Out of Control
The following information was provided by the Bedford Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

May 1
11:45 a.m. - A caller reported a sick woodchuck in front of the middle school. Police report the animal ran back into the woods.
2:27 p.m. - A person went to the police station to report a larceny. Police are investigating.

2:47 p.m. - A caller on Bonnievale Drive reported an outside controlled fire that appeared to be out of control. Firefighters helped the resident extinguish the fire.
6:03 p.m. - A civil problem was reported at 1203 Avalon Drive.

8:11 p.m. - Police received an anonymous call reporting a turtle in the road in front of 2 Bonnievale Drive. When police arrived, the turtle was gone.
May 2
7:46 a.m. - A caller reported a suspicious car parked in front of 99 Shawsheen Road. A tow truck was called.
8:28 a.m. - Concord police reported an erratic car was heading toward Concord Road in Bedford. Police checked the area but did not find the car.
10:56 a.m. - Smoke was reported coming from the furnace at Bedford High School gym. It was blowback from the furnace, and the facility was ventilated.
3:30 p.m. - A license plate was reported in the road on Old Billerica Road. Police found it and returned it to its owner on Old Stagecoach Road.
6:30 p.m. - A suspicious car parked on Putnam Road earlier in the day was reported. The caller did not know if the car was still there. Police checked the area and didn't find the car.
11:39 p.m. - An alarm system reported a silent holdup at Panera Bread on Burlington Road. Police found the alarm was set off by accident when a delivery was being made.Â
