Recycling/Reuse Events On October 3 And October 10 In Bedford

Both events run from 9:00 am to noon, and will take place at the Compost Center, 108 Carlisle Road.

The Department of Public Works is hosting a recycling/reuse event on Saturday, October 3rd and a shredding event on Saturday, October 10. Both events run from 9:00 am to noon, and will take place at the Compost Center, 108 Carlisle Road.

On October 3rd, Bedford residents will have the opportunity to get rid of electronic waste, debris from renovations, scrap metal, rigid plastics, tires, propane tanks and expired fire extinguishers. In addition, Household Goods in Acton and Habitat for Humanity will be accepting a number of household items.

On October 10th, residents will be able to get all those old files they’ve amassed shredded. In addition, the DPW will be accepting sealed lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, fluorescent lamps, and other items containing mercury.

Both events are open to Bedford residents only. The Compost Center will be closed for yard waste drop-off on October 3rd, but it will be open on October 10th.

To promote social distancing and to protect all involved, residents should load their items in the rear of their vehicle. Residents should stay in their vehicles. The DPW crew and vendors will remove materials.
