Middlesex Community College has a plan in place to help students start – or get back on track – with their academic plan in both the Summer and Fall 2021 semesters. At Middlesex, students receive access to high-quality courses, flexible schedules and affordable pricing that will help them reach their goals on time.
“For the rest of Summer and heading into Fall, MCC is offering a variety of convenient and flexible course options for new and returning students in every discipline,” said Audrey Nahabedian, MCC’s Dean of Enrollment Management. “The college continues to focus and build upon providing accessible and affordable courses to support all students in achieving their transfer, career and re-training goals.”
Barbara Klitzke is returning to Middlesex in order to add skills to her resume, including graphic design, social media and e-commerce. Now living in Nashua, N.H., in her return to MCC, she has been impressed by the availability of counselors and resources. Klitzke believes MCC “suits my lifestyle” as she starts taking classes to go toward a certificate.

“It’s important to continue my education so that I can stay relevant in my field of work,” she said. “I enjoy learning and obtaining new skills, and it pays off professionally.”
MCC’s Summer Session 3 includes an accelerated five-week format. With a mix of online and blended hybrid course options, students can get ahead with electives and general education requirements. Summer is also a convenient time for students to take classes to improve their GPA, finish their degree faster, earn transferable credits, and get an early start on their education.

In the Fall semester, students can meet their goals with flexible online, in-person and hybrid schedules. Each of the Fall’s six course formats are specially assigned to courses depending on what works best for student learning and safety. These include Online and On-Campus Lecture, Online and On-Campus Lab, Lecture, Lecture and Lab, Online with Class Meeting Times, and Online with No Class Meeting Times.
In blended Online and On-Campus Lecture courses, classes combine on-campus and online instruction. Students in Online and On-Campus Lab courses receive online instruction and attend on-campus labs. On-campus Lecture courses follow the traditional on-campus format of face-to-face classes, which meet weekly on campus with students and instructors. On-campus Lecture and Lab courses also use the traditional on-campus face-to-face course and lab format, which meet weekly on campus with students and instructors.
In Online with Class Meeting Times courses, the fully online class format with scheduled meeting days and times means students must be online during scheduled meeting times. Students in Online with No Class Meeting Times classes follow a fully online class format with no scheduled meeting days or times. Lectures, lessons and exercises are completed online, over the course of the semester.
Middlesex understands students are with finances due to COVID-19. MCC has frozen tuition and fees for the Fall 2021 semester to help students afford and continue their education.
Middlesex has also been awarded $1.5 million as part of the Federal Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF). All returning and newly enrolled students are eligible to apply for this financial assistance in order to begin, return and complete their higher education goals, including toward the cost of attendance and student accounts.
MCC’s Summer Session 3 will run for five weeks from July 13 to August 12. The Fall 2021 semester begins on Thursday, September 9. For more information and to register for classes, visit www.middlesex.mass.edu/registration/ or call 1-800-818-3434.
