'Top Gerbil': Beauty Pageant of the Gerbil World Held Right Here in Bedford

OK, so there may not have been much in the way of stretch limos or red carpets.

But The American Gerbil Society's yearly competition for 'top gerbil' was held in Bedford this past weekend, and is a big deal for fans of the tiny rodents.

The Associated Press reports that the judging is done along the lines of body type and ability to navigate a race course. 

So how do *you* judge a 'top' gerbil?
