Belmont Delays Trash Pickup Ahead of Storm

The town has not declared a snow emergency, as the National Weather Service updated its snow totals for the region. ​

BELMONT, MA — Belmont is getting ready for the first major snow storm of the season and taking precautions to make sure cleanup will run smoothly.

Belmont delayed trash pickup on Thursday and urged residents not to put trash out on Thursday, it will instead be picked up on Friday. The town is trying to keep the streets as clear as possible so that plows can make their way through the streets.

Town offices and town hall were already closed dues to COVID-19. The town also implemented a winter parking ban on all roads and municipal and school parking lots.

A winter storm warning is in effect for Belmont and surrounding areas. The town is expected to get six to 11 inches of snow tonight.
