Belmont Liquor Stores Can Now Sell Lottery Tickets
A revision to liquor license laws allows liquor retailers to sell lottery tickets with board of selectmen approval.

BELMONT, MA – Liquor stores in Belmont now how the option to sell lottery tickets, if approved by the board of selectmen. The board voted unanimously to revise the town's liquor license laws to permit licensed businesses to sell state lottery tickets, according to the Belmont Citizen-Herald.
Lottery officials met with selectmen earlier this year in an attempt to do away with the town's banning of ticket sales at liquor establishments, citing decreased sales, the Citizen-Herald reported. A temporary stay on allowing the sale of alcohol, and lottery tickets and tobacco products was implemented three years ago when The Loading Dock was granted an all-alcohol license.
Establishments must now seek state and board approval to sell liquor licenses.
