Belmont Area Fireworks And More: 2018 Guide
Here are four celebrations close by Belmont residents can consider.

BELMONT, MA — Belmont does not have any fireworks or formal Fourth of July celebration of it's own, but that doesn't mean Belmont residents have to miss out on the fun. Here are four celebrations Belmont residents can consider.
1. Lexington
Lexington's annual Fourth of July Fireworks and carnival is scheduled for Thursday, July 5 at the Center Field on Worthen Road. Fireworks are scheduled to shoot off at approximately 9:30 p.m.

2. Boston
The Boston Pops' Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular at the DCR Hatch Shell is once again free and open to the public.

The night of music and fireworks begins at 8 pm. with Rachel Platten, the pop star from Newton, Massachusetts headlining the show with the Boston Pops. Fireworks start at 10:30 pm.
The DCR Hatch Shell is located at the Esplanade at 47 David G. Mugar Way in Boston. Doors open at 9 a.m.
A free concert will also take place July 3, the night before at 8 p.m. This will include the music, just without the fireworks.
3. Newton
Newton's Independence Day fireworks shoot off July 4 at 9 p.m. at the Halloran Sports Complex. At Ablemarle Field, an entire day of family friendly festivities is also open to the public including food trucks, handmade crafts, and children's activities. Festivities start at noon.
Halloran Sports Complex is located at 250 Albemarle Road.
4. Waltham
Join your neighbors in Waltham on July 4 at Leary Field for a fireworks spectacular. Fireworks shoot off at 9 p.m.
In addition to the fireworks, there will be activities for the family at Prospect Hill Park. Activities include mini golf, music, trolley rides, food, and more. Details for activities schedule are still pending. Check back soon for more details.
If you decide to have your own celebrations in Belmont on the 4th of July, please be prepared for the heat. The Weather Channel said temperatures could reach 89 degrees with humidity at 59 percent.
