Belmont Police Honor Retiring Crossing Guard
Francis "Franny" Napoli has been a crossing guard in Belmont for 45 years.
BELMONT, MA — Belmont police offered a fitting farewell to a staple to Belmont streets — School Crossing Guard Francis “Franny” Napoli retired.
Napoli has worked as a crossing guard in Belmont for 45 years. Her last assignment was on Cross Street at Middlecot Street for Winn Brook Elementary. Napoli helped thousands of students make it to school safely and greeted them with a smile each morning.
"The Belmont Police would like to thank Ms. Napoli for her many years of dedicated service to the Belmont Police Department and the Town of Belmont," the department said.

She was surprised with flowers and a photo shoo from the department, to show their appreciation for her.
