Grocery Chain Shuts Down Belmont Store
The chain's newest location in Belmont Center is closing after a year of business.

BELMONT, MA – A local grocery store chain closed its Belmont location Thursday after about a year of business. According to the Belmont Citizen-Herald, Foodie's Market in Belmont Center shut down after weeks of diminishing products on its shelves.
Owner Victor Leon, Jr. told the Citizen-Herald business wasn't coming in and cited factors like parking on Leonard Street, the store's location below street level and pricing. Foodie's first opened in Belmont last May at the former Macy's site; it was the chain's fourth location.
Foodie's is a Massachusetts-based grocery chain that has locations in theBoston's South End, South Boston and Duxbury. It was located at 75 Leonard St. in Belmont.
