Local Cookbook Author Being Honored at Boston’s Readable Feast
Sally Sampson, cookbook author and founder of ChopChop Family, to receive a literary and culinary achievement award

Nestled on Belmont Street, sits an innovative nonprofit that, if your family doesn’t already know about, it will be happy to discover. ChopChop Family is an organization with a focused mission: to enrich the lives of families by inspiring and teaching them to cook and eat real food together while having fun and learning essential skills for a full life.
This inspiring mission is achieved every day through the publication of three print cooking magazines (ChopChop, Seasoned, and Sprout), local cooking classes held in the ChopChop Test Kitchen, interdisciplinary teacher curricula, and digital media (a cooking club app, various social channels, their website, and more).
The bright and colorful Test Kitchen provides a safe, hands-on environment for educating local families about cooking and eating. It is a modern, 820-square-foot space used not only for testing out magazine recipes and holding photos shoots but also for avant-garde cooking classes for kids and families. What sets these classes apart? The instructors focus on fresh, nutritious ingredients to teach students the fundamental cooking skills they need to make delicious food. Each hands-on class is paired with a fun theme and incorporates academic and life skills within the curriculum.
