Man, 21, Killed By Commuter Rail Train In Belmont
MBTA Transit Police said the man was standing on the tracks at a railroad crossing.
BELMONT, MA — A 21-year-old man was struck and killed by a commuter rail train Monday morning. MBTA Transit Police said the man was on the tracks at a railroad crossing at about 6:20 a.m. in Belmont when he was hit. His identity was not released. Foul play was not suspected.
The train that hit him was an inbound Fitchburg Line train. There were delays of up to 85 minutes on the line Monday morning, the MBTA said.
The crash happened on Brighton Street, which was closed between Cross Street and Hittinger Street.

"Expect significant delays for the morning commute," Belmont police said in a statement.
