Mass. Nor'easter: How Much Snow is Expected in Belmont Thursday?

A Winter Storm Watch is already issued for Wednesday-Thursday. All of a sudden it looks like "heavy snow" will be the story of the day.

BELMONT, MA – Well, that developed rather quickly. A slushy Tuesday followed by an abnormally warm Wednesday will give way to a nor'easter, burying Massachusetts in potentially more than a foot of snow.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch and a Winter Storm Advisory that will be in effect from Wednesday night through late Thursday night. The NWS is warning of "heavy snow," 8-12 inches across most of Massachusetts.

"Snow will begin early Thursday morning and last through much of the day before ending Thursday evening," the NWS writes. "Snow could fall heavy at times and impact both the morning and evening commutes."
