Merchants' Holiday Stroll Coming to Belmont's Cushing Square
Stop by Dec. 8 for an evening of shopping and music in the historic Belmont neighborhood.

BELMONT, MA – It's all about shopping local this holiday season in Belmont's Cushing Square.
On Thursday, Dec. 8, the historic neighborhood will host the Merchants' Holiday Stroll from 5 to 9 p.m. Participating businesses will host festive holiday celebrations, and some shops will offer promotions and discounts.
The event includes a performance by the Belmont High Madrigal Singers from 6 to 6:45 p.m.

Here's a look at some of the promotions:
Westcott Mercantile will offer additional prizes with a purchase of $30 or more. From owner Mary Westcott Thomajan: "The vintage carnival wheel is ready for spinning! Come into Westcott Mercantile with your receipt for $30 or over and take a turn at the wheel for additional prizes."

The Spirited Gourmet has a special tasting planned for the event. According to owner Chris Benoit, "We saved one our finest tastings for the Holiday Stroll. We’ll be pouring four different champagnes from Pol Roger from 6 to 8 on Thursday."
Chelsea Batchelor, store manager at Helena's, a women's clothing boutique on Common Street, promises special offers on favorite stocking stuffers.
"Our neighborhood of stores have so much to offer when it comes to checking those names off your list!" Batchelor said in a statement.
The Cushing Square shopping district includes the shops and restaurants on Trapelo Road, Common Street and Cushing Avenue. Retail shops will create special holiday window displays and many businesses will have refreshments for busy shoppers.
