Nor'easter Prompts Belmont Snow Emergency
Well over a foot of snow is expected to fall in Massachusetts over the next 36 hours.
BELMONT, MA — Belmont is bracing for the nor'easter to throw a blanket of snow over the town and closed declared a snow emergency on Monday.
The snow emergency parking ban applies to all roadways and municipal and Belmont Public School parking lots in town. Starting at 6 p.m. on Monday, all cars parked in violation of the ban could be towed at the owners expense.
Belmont Public Schools canceled after school activities on Monday and transitioned to remote learning. The district decided to cancel all classes on Tuesday, including remote and in-person classes.

The National Weather Service is forecasting 7-15 inches of wet, heavy snow, with the coast and Cape and Islands receiving just a coating. A winter storm warning is in effect throughout the state.
