Severe Thunderstorm Warning In Belmont

The National Weather Service is warning of severe thunderstorms in the area throughout the afternoon with frequent lightning, potentially damaging winds and even hail possible. The service has issued a severe thunderstorm alert for Bedford.

Storms have been rolling through Massachusetts much of the day, with winds bringing down trees and power lines. Rhode Island has also been hit hard today, with many areas of that state in the dark and likely to remain so throughout the day. Power outages are likely in the Bedford area as the storms roll through
