BELMONT, MA — Just in time for the evening rush hour, a tractor trailer about to continue onto Belmont Road at the Trapelo Road intersection lost its axel. It broke down just after 5 p.m. Police are directing traffic around the truck, but traffic is backed up.

Avoid the area if you can.
