Winter Storm Warning In Effect for Belmont Saturday

BELMONT, MA — What was previously thought to be a dusting of powder could become a noticeable amount of snowfall in Belmont, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a Winter Storm Warning.

According to the National Weather Service, snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches are possible Saturday afternoon into Saturday evening; causing slick roads and reduced visibility. The warning is in effect from Saturday at 7 a.m. to Sunday at 2 a.m.

The NWS' latest local forecast indicates that Belmont is in for snow starting in the afternoon, with snow accumulations of three to five inches possible. The NWS is showing highs in the upper twenties.

An additional one to three inches is currently in the forecast for Saturday night, says the NWS. Temperatures are slated to drop to the mid-teens.
