Plus: You might have heard of the newest candidate for mayor — she's the mayor. And what do you think of these Sox jerseys without the Red?

The HUB is a rundown of the stories people in Boston are talking about. Patch publishes The HUB every weekday.

Good morning, Boston! Today is Wednesday, April 7. We're talking some a new candidate, a new uniform and new places to stuff our faces.

But first...

Gov. Charlie Baker has been the face of the state's battle against the coronavirus, for better or worse. On Tuesday, 392 days after he issued a state of emergency Massachusetts is still under, Baker got his first vaccine shot.

The 64-year-old held true to never skipping the line, even as people several decades younger scored vaccinations by various means. He even went the same frustrating way everyone else is — preregistering and waiting his turn to make an appointment.

"And so far, I feel great," he said after getting the Pfizer vaccine at the Hynes Convention Center, the state's largest mass vaccination site.

Speaking of the vaccine, The Boston Globe has some great tips on how to book an appointment. If you have Twitter, make sure to follow @vaccinetime for automated tweets when appointments become available across the state.

What I'm reading today: They had me at "Bagelsaurus." That's the name of the — you guessed it — bagel shop in Porter Square owned by Mary Ting Hyatt. She talked to The Boston Globe about what she envisions her post-pandemic bagel shop might look like.
