Beacon Hill Bar The Red Hat Reportedly Set To Close
After being in business for more than 100 years, the popular Beacon Hill spot The Red Hat may be closing for good.

BOSTON, MA — We may be saying goodbye to another Boston institution this weekend as we learn that popular Beacon Hill restaurant and bar The Red Hat is possibly shutting down.
According to a tweet from @DunnTimothyP, The Red Hat is possibly closing its doors on June 27, with a message sent to the Bowdoin Street spot on Sunday asking for more details about the closing.
Another tweet from Karyn Regal of WBZ appears to confirm this, saying that "I'm told The Red Hat, which opened in 1907, will close, likely next weekend."

The bar has not responded to questions about a possible closing date and has not posted to social media.
According to their website, The Red Hat opened in 1907 on Bowdoin Street in Scollay Square originally to serve sailors on leave and eventually became a local favorite for business people, students and politicians.
