Dracut Native Sarah deSouza Crowned Miss Massachusetts USA 2021

Lowell, MA, June 12, 2021 - During one of the year's most exciting events, a regional panel of judges crowned 25 year old Sarah deSouza, Dracut Native, MISS MASSACHUSETTS USA and 18 year old Shannon Malloy from Canton, MISS MASSACHUSETTS TEEN USA.
The competition, which was held at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium was one of the year’s most anticipated events. "After many years of working in the pageant industry, I feel confident that both young women will be wonderful representative’s of the state of Massachusetts," said Laurie Clemente, Executive Director. "I know they will make us proud as they go on to compete for the title of Miss Teen USA and Miss USA in November.
Throughout the event, delegates competed in "runway", a choreographed evening gown competition; "fitness/swimsuit", a high fashion styled competition showcasing physical fitness and health and "interview". The three segments were judged by a celebrity panel including local famed chef Jason Santos, Karsen Tager from Karsen & Kennedy 104.1, and former Miss USA Susie Castillo. The event was hosted by NECN’s Reporter, Jackie Bruno.
