Elizabeth Warren Wants Treasury Secretary If Biden Wins: Report
Elizabeth Warren is expected to make her pitch if Joe Biden takes the White House, possibly presenting an intra-party squabble.

MASSACHUSETTS — U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren is reportedly making a hard push to be the next Treasury secretary if Joe Biden wins the White House, something that would potentially provide Biden with his first major intraparty squabble.

Conservatives have framed Warren as something of a boogeyman in years past, because of her hardline stances on Wall Street and progressive policy proposals. The financial sector would almost certainly be subject to stricter regulation under Warren's watch.

Warren's reputation has even cost her with Democrats. President Barack Obama, wary of her prickly relationship with Republicans, didn't appoint her to oversee the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau that she essentially created in 2011.
