Ex-Uber Driver Charged With Sex Assault of Passenger
Police allege Baez was driving for Uber when he picked up a female passenger, drove to a location and raped her.

NEWTON, MA – A 34-year-old Boston man was released on $2,500 cash bail in connection with an alleged sexual assault on a woman while he was driving for Uber using an alias.
In Newton District Court on Tuesday, Luis Baez pleaded not guilty to three counts of rape. Judge Mary Beth Heffernan released Baez on $2,500 cash bail and ordered the defendant to stay away from the campus of Boston College.
His next court date in this case is June 21.

On September 29, 2016, Baez, who was driving under the name Pedro Valentin, allegedly picked up the victim in Boston while driving for Uber. Once the victim was in his vehicle, the defendant allegedly drove her to a location other than her requested destination where he allegedly sexually assault her, police said.
After the alleged assault the defendant allegedly drove the victim to the campus of Boston College, where the victim reported the assault to campus police.

Boston College and Boston police conducted a joint investigation and identified Baez using information. From the victim's ride request, according to the Middlesex District Attorney's Office.
Baez is known to police, according to the DA.
