Friendly's Sold To Group Aimed At 'Reinvigorating' Flailing Chain
The new owners say they plan on keeping all 130 remaining Friendly's locations open, while adding new menu options and ice cream flavors.

Friendly's has been sold to a group of restaurant investors who say it hopes to inject new life into the once-ubiquitous New England ice cream chain.
Amici Partners Group, LLC said Tuesday it had acquired Friendly's more than two months after the former owners of the restaurant chain announced the bankruptcy asset sale.
Amici said it plans on keeping all 130 remaining Friendly's locations open while adding new menu options and ice cream flavors.

"Based on our personal connection to the chain, strong investment capabilities, and seasoned management team, we believe we will be able to continue to reinvigorate this much-loved brand for both loyal patrons and new customers alike," Craig Erlich, President and CEO of Amici Partners and its affiliated company BRIX Holdings, LLC, said.
BRIX currently operates several chains, including Orange Leaf and Red Mango.
