Hiring In Boston, Amazon Reportedly Seeking Downtown Digs to Match

Online retail and tech behemoth Amazon is making big moves in Boston.

BOSTON, MA — Hiring more than 10,000 across the U.S. and posting more than 300 openings in the Boston area alone, online retail and technology behemoth Amazon is reportedly seeking new real estate to match.

Reuters reported this week on the nationwide hiring spree, and a cursory glance at Amazon's careers page show 328 openings posted in the Boston/Cambridge area, as of Friday morning.

On top of that comes news Thursday from The Boston Globe that the company hopes to lease up to 200,000 square feet of downtown office space. Citing real estate sources, the paper says Amazon wants to move forward as soon as the first quarter, opening the new space by the end of 2017. The company did not confirm.
