Patch: How long have you been doing business in town?

Zachareas: I have been treating low testosterone and erectile dysfunction patients in Massachusetts for over 15 years. I decided to open up the Boston Vitality office in Stoneham this past fall to provide a more comfortable, convenient and private setting for men who are seeking treatment for those specific issues of low testosterone and erectile dysfunction.
Patch: What attracted you to the line of work and how did you get started?
Find out what's happening in Bostonfor free with the latest updates from Patch.
Zachareas: I have always been interested in medicine and men's health and urology came into focus during medical school.
Patch: If you had to sum up your business mission to a stranger what would you say?
Zachareas: At Boston Vitality, we focus on testosterone replacement and erectile dysfunction. In my private practice, I focus on all aspects of urology.
Patch: What’s the biggest challenge or most difficult moment you’ve faced in your job?
Zachareas: That’s a tough question to answer. Obviously being a doctor you see a lot of different patients who are suffering from various issues. Some diseases and illnesses are more significant than others, and some are life threatening. You really have to take the good days with the bad and know that your job is to help people to the best of your ability. I really stay focused on that and know that at the end of the day, we are helping a lot of people. Staying positive is infectious and people see it. Whatever challenges you are facing, it’s a lot easier to face them with a positive attitude.
Patch: What’s the most satisfying part of your job?
Zachareas: I think the most satisfying part of Boston Vitality is seeing the patients succeed and start feeling better. There are a lot of misconceptions about low testosterone treatment. Some people still think its just about muscles but that’s not the case. Men suffering from low testosterone experience low libido and poor erections which can have devastating effects on their relationships. They can also experience increased body fat and lack of results from normal exercise which causes frustration and confusion. In addition, testosterone can potentially have a positive effect on cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugar.
Also, and very interestingly, low testosterone can have a serious impact on men’s moods and be a possible cause of depression. There are some ongoing studies that show promising possibilities for treating some types of male depression with testosterone therapy. When guys start their testosterone treatments and come back to me and say, “I can’t believe it but I am more happy, motivated and content,” that’s what makes it all worth it to me. It’s fun and rewarding to educate people on what’s going on with them and to see them start feeling better.
Patch: How would you say your business distinguishes itself from others?
Zachareas: Boston Vitality is a premiere men’s medical office treating low testosterone and erectile dysfunction for men in the Boston area. I have many years of experience in treating these issues specifically and have the knowledge and experience in men’s health that is required to accurately and successfully attempt to treat low testosterone. Low T can be complex and it’s not a one size fits all solution. Clients at my Boston Vitality office are treated individually, and not as just another patient.
At Boston Vitality, men will find a very private, comfortable and professional office and staff and can expect professional and knowledgeable low testosterone treatment. Plus, our location is incredibly convenient for Boston commuters as we are right off of route 93 on Montvale Ave. in Stoneham, MA. We strive to make each client’s experience positive which includes making sure they don’t have any wait time in the waiting room. For a lot of clients that in and of itself is a luxury experience!
Patch: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given when it comes to success?
Zachareas: Work hard and be a good person.
Patch: Are there any new projects or endeavors you’re working on that you’re extra excited about?
Zachareas: Right now, I am focused on my practice and making it the best practice it can be. Boston Vitality is really exciting and the staff and clients are having a great experience. I have some thoughts about Boston Vitality over the next year or two and will absolutely share those when we’re ready. Right now, we are focusing on helping men with low testosterone and make sure that they are receiving the best care possible.
Patch: Do you have any events coming up in your community?
Zachareas: We do! We are putting together some dates and locations for seminars and educational sessions to help men understand men’s health and their bodies. We want to add value to people’s lives and think that we can do a great service to people in our community by educating them on health issues, particularly issues around low testosterone and ED symptoms. A lot of people don’t talk about it because they may be embarrassed or shy but we want to inform as many as possible to seek treatment and not brush it under the rug anymore. As soon as we have those dates and locations nailed down we will let you know!
