MA Weather: A Dark And Stormy Day, A Foggy Night

It's going to be a wet and possibly windy weekend, the National Weather Service said.

BOSTON — The Friday leading into the first weekend of June will be a stormy one, with thunderstorms and gusty winds predicted for much of the day and night.

The National Weather Service forecast for eastern Massachusetts put the chances of showers and thunderstorms at 60 percent through 4 p.m., with winds gusting up to 22 mph and a high temperature nearing 78.

The chances of storms would diminish to about 30 percent during the evening and overnight, the NWS said, with fog possibly developing around 1 a.m. and lasting until near dawn.

Saturday's forecast calls for more rain and storms, mainly after noon, with winds likely peaking at 21 mph and a high near 85.

Not until Sunday will the skies begin to clear. The weather service said the chances of rain would diminish to about 20 percent and the day would be mostly sunny.
