MA Weather: First Snow Of Season Possible This Week
Tropical Storm Zeta may bring wet snow Thursday into Friday, with some flurries possible as far east as Boston.
MASSACHUSETTS — Snow — not a lot of it, but snow nonetheless — could be heading our way later this week.
Tropical Storm Zeta is moving north, and its remnants might give Massachusetts some early, pre-Halloween snow. Exactly how much and where depends on the strength with which the storm comes out of the Gulf of Mexico over the next 24 hours.
Forecasters are expecting at least some snow in the interior of the state. The National Weather Service said the best chance of seeing a couple inches is near the Berkshires and in Worcester County, but places east of the that could still see some snow Thursday night into Friday morning.

The precipitation may start as heavy rain and transition into wet snow. Rain will be at its heaviest overnight and there is the chance for flurries as far east as Boston later Friday.
"The setup for the Northeast will involve a fresh injection of cold air as high pressure will build eastward from the Great Lakes region spanning Thursday and Friday," AccuWeather senior meteorologist Mike Doll said.

It wouldn't be the earliest snowfall we've had, though snow this soon into autumn is rare. Some flakes have fallen in early October, and in 2005 there was measurable snow Oct. 29.
Snow usually isn't seen around these parts until late November, with measurable snow following in December.
Halloween will have clear skies but it will be chilly.
