National Youth Violence Prevention Week Ends with Peace Rally
Rally includes Anti-Violence Creative Contest Award announcement .

BOSTON, MA - Annual Hip-Hop Video Contest and Peace Rally cap off Boston's National Youth Prevention Week events on Thursday.
In anticipation of National Youth Violence Prevention Week (April 3-7), the Boston Inter-agency Committee on Violence Prevention, which consists of a variety of federal and state agencies, has hosted several creative contests for Boston’s K-12 school children.
On April 6, the week’s events will culminate in a Peace Rally and Award celebration, in which the top three contestant winners for anti-violence poster, poetry and hip-hop video will be announced. Several disc jockeys from JAM’N 94.5 will M.C. the event, which will include presentations by local officials as well as surprise interactive events for the 500-600 people expected to attend.

Acting U.S. Attorney William Weinreb, Police Commissioner William Evans, District Attorney Dan Conley, BCYF Commissioner William Morales and MassHousing Community Services Director Thaddeus Miles will be a part of the festivities.
Peace Rally and Anti-Violence Creative Contest Award Announcement is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on April 6 at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center at Roxbury Community College 1350 Tremont Street, Roxbury Crossing. Doors open at 4:30 p.m.
