Old North Church Continues Digital Speaker Series on May 12

Old North Church & Historic Site Presents Diverse Histories of Boston's Oldest Buildings Featuring City Archeologist of Boston Joe Bagley

BOSTON – As Boston approaches the city’s 400th anniversary of its founding, the Old North Church & Historic Site will host City Archaeologist of Boston Joe Bagley for a digital discussion around local architectural landmarks. On Wednesday, May 12, from 7 to 8 p.m., the digital talk will feature content from Bagley’s second book, “Boston’s Oldest Buildings and Where to Find Them,” the first to survey Boston’s fifty oldest buildings, including buildings in Boston’s historic North End, such as the Grant House and Kimball-Parker House. Stories will cover enslaved Bostonians, powerful women, Revolutionary War heroes, and the efforts that go into preserving these places for centuries. The online event is free with a suggested donation to support the Old North Foundation’s virtual and on-site programs, which aim to inspire children and adults alike to consider the ways in which they can build a more just and equitable world.
