Patch Tastemaker: Travel Blogger Regan Cleminson

This Beacon Hill resident and marketing genius has traveled the world. But these are some of her favorite hidden gems closer to home.

Coastline Creatives founder and Venture Travelist blogger Regan Cleminson is no stranger to world traveling. With 28 countries stamped on her passport, the Beacon Hill resident is more than qualified to be your guide for all things food, fashion and travel abroad.

And Cleminson is equally as knowledgeable about places close to home — after all, she's been a Boston resident for nearly a decade and has spent plenty of time strolling the streets of her "classic, educated and walkable" city.

When she's not jet-setting to new countries (she plans to add three more to her list this year!), you can often find this busy entrepreneur closer to home, brunching at Saltie Girl or catching a game at Fenway Park. For more suggestions around town, take a look at her favorite restaurants, museums and attractions in Boston:

Describe Boston in three words: Classic, educated, walkable

What’s your favorite overall Boston restaurant? Uni — I think Tony Messina is absolutely crushing it. Island Creek Oyster Bar is a close second though.

Best sushi: Uni

Best Italian food: Grotto (where I had my first date with my boyfriend, and the best restaurant in my neighborhood hands down). Bar Mezzana and Coppa are great alternatives when Grotto is booked though!

Best dessert: Any pastry from Little Donkey, but most specifically the kouign amann. Mark my word it will be the next cronut!

Best pizza: OTTO in Harvard Square

Best spot for a quick lunch: Grainmaker. Their Hipstir Bowl with kale and pork meatballs is the perfect on-the-go lunch.

Best food truck: Chicken & Rice Guys

Best spot for a romantic date: Deuxave or O Ya

Best glass of wine: Bistro du Midi downstairs. Especially on days they have the doors open to the park.

Best Sunday brunch: Saltie Girl. Worth the wait. Every time.

Best spot for a power business meeting: Atlantic Fish Co. (Fun fact: I waitressed here in college!)

Best steak: No. 9 Park

Best spot for a craft cocktail: Hojoko in Fenway. Stay for the food, too!

What hotel would you recommend for your out of town guests? No. 284, a small luxury guest house in the heart of Back Bay. They also have an amazing art collection, featuring an Andy Warhol lithograph in their penthouse and a Picasso sketch. Be sure to post up on their back patio or in the library for a cup of tea in the morning.

Favorite shopping venue or boutique: Newbury Street. All Too Human always has an amazing curation of pieces.

Best gym or fitness studio: Everybody Fights

Best spa: The Spa at Mandarin Oriental

Favorite charity event or organization: Boston Winter Ball

Favorite cultural event: First Fridays at the MFA

Favorite cultural institution: Boston Ballet

What’s the best museum or current exhibit in Boston? The MFA. I cannot wait until the Ansel Adams exhibit comes in December. He is one of my inspirations!

Best historic or iconic Boston landmark to see or explore: Fenway Park. If you can swing seats in Field Box 46, it’s a fun experience.

What’s your all-time favorite spot in Boston? Hanging out on the docks on the Esplanade is one of my favorite things to do in the city.

The best aspect of Boston is: The sense of pride and camaraderie in the community.
