On Friday in Roxbury District Court, Auch answered to charges of Murder, Assault to Murder, Armed Assault to Murder, Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, and Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling.
At about 4 p.m. on Dec. 18, 2015, police say Roxbury officers responded to a shot spotter activation in the area of 58 Annunciation Road. When they arrived, officers observed 17-year-old D’Andre King-Settles of Roxbury suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. King-Settles was later pronounced deceased.
For three months, Boston Police Homicide detectives worked tirelessly on this case and, through careful examination of all evidence, were able to identify 18-year-old Enrique Auch of Revere and 20-year-old Tsunami M. Ortiz of Randolph as the suspects who killed D’Andre King-Settles. Days after this determination, on February 27, 2016, the Boston Police Fugitive Unit along with Randolph Police were able to arrest Ortiz without incident.
"I'm proud of my detectives for compiling the evidence so quickly and efficiently," said Police Commissioner William Evans. "Their diligence, along with the community's assistance, played a huge part in solving the case. I hope that this second arrest can bring some closure to the family and friends of the victims."
